Destination Education: Enriched Air Diver

The Enriched Air Diver course is one of the most popular specialty courses offered after the Open Water Diver certification. The benefits of using Nitrox when you dive are tremendous. The greatest benefits are exteded bottom time and decreased time between dives or surface intervals. This allows you to make the most out of your dive trip and spend more time doing what you love to do, dive.

Did you know:
You can enroll in the Enriched Air Diver course in conjunction with your Open Water Diver certification!

That’s right. You are not required to have a highly technical level of knowledge and skills in order to take Nitrox. There are no prerequisitesrequired to take the course aside from enrollment in or completion of an Open Water Diver course which means that you can take it either during your initial certification or right after. You can take advantage of the benefits of diving Nitrox right away.

Nitrox makes a significant difference when it comes to bottom time.

Do you enjoy diving activities such as wreck diving, underwater photography and Deep Diving? Did you know that using enriched air during such dives can give you more time to explore that wreck, enjoy longer repetitive dives and have more time at depth. When you experience it for yourself, you will see just how beneficial it can be.

There are different Enriched Air Diver course options available.

Once you have decided to enroll in the Enriched Air Diver course, there are a couple of different options. You can choose:

  • Enriched Air Diver (with Computer assist) - In this course you will learn how dive computers track and calculate your dive using Nitrox.
  • Enriched Air Diver (with Tables) - This is a more in depth look at the calculations involves and shows you how to calculate your Nitrox dives on your own.

We at Destination Scuba provide both formats and reccommend the Enriched Air Diver course using tables. It is always beneficial to learn as much as possible during your continuing education dive courses. This particular course format is an excellent way to gain valuable knowledge to enhance your experience using Nitrox.
